A couple more things you should know:

1. it (very) rarely can affect your smile if the tox spreads to the wrong muscle

   this instance is extremely rare, but your masseter muscle is right under a muscle that affects your smile. we can’t see under your skin and if your muscle is in a different location than normal, you may be affected. this would be temporary, but it’s important to coordinate this injection with important dates and pictures just to be safe.

2. sometimes we need touch ups

   especially if IT’S YOUR FIRST TIME, we TRY to go WITH AS LITTLE AMOUNT OF PRODUCT POSSIBLE. BECAUSE IT’S SUCH A LARGE MUSCLE, IF you don’t feel relief after 3-4 weeks you can come in and we will add a little more. Sometimes, the product shocks the muscle and makes the muscle fibers overcompensate by bulging out. This usually goes away during the first two weeks, but if it doesn’t, you just come back in and we touch it up and it will disappear.

3. it takes time to see results

   since this is a larger muscle, it can take a couple treatments to see the affects of sliming in our face. as for pain relief, usually we start feeling this in a couple of days after treatment. in order to maintain your results, you will have to keep up with this injection every 3-8 months.

4. you might feel sore after injection and when the injection wears off

   the injection point might be sore for a week or two after injection. if you are an intense clencher, you may feel sore when the tox is wearing off and your muscles are going back to clenching. it’s like going back to the gym after a long time off.
