The lowdown on
Queen Machine
(Radio frequency microneedling)
What is it and what does it do?
We are so excited to fuse our love of creating collagen under our skin with stimulating collagen IN our skin. Our new Queen Machine is a little to no downtime, non-invasive treatment that creates micro-channels of energy to stimulate your body to create collagen leading to an influx of hydration, healthy glow and youthful appearing skin.
This treatment helps with SO many skin concerns including (but not limited to):
skin laxity
fine lines/wrinkles
rosacea
redness
melasma
brown spots
aging spots
To add the cherry on top, we add on our secret sauce to take your treatment to the next level. This allows more collagen to penetrate into your tissues giving you long lasting results and a quicker healing time.
Who can use it?
truly anyone! this machine is so customizable to any and all skin types, even melasma! in fact, it’s the only device made to actually treat melasma! This machine is also completely safe for Fitz skin types 4-5, unlike other radio frequency devices out there.
How many treatments are recommended?
for best results we recommend 3 treatments 3-6 weeks apart, with yearly touch ups. Depending on an individual’s skin laxity, scarring, hyper pigmentation, melasma etc. and desired results, you may need more sessions.
Downtime:
DOWNTIME IS VERY MINIMAL. OUR SECRET SAUCE HELPS SPEED UP THE RECOVERY PROCESS! PATIENTS ARE TYPICALLY BACK TO NORMAL THE NEXT DAY, BUT THE SKIN CAN FEEL TIGHT/DRY THE FIRST couple of days, AND redness can occur 1-3 days AFTER. THOUGH RARE, OTHER SIDE eFFECTS include flaking of the skin, SWELLING 1-2 DAYS post-treatment, chance of tracks (little stamps from the needle heAD), PURGING of the skin, and SKIN COLOR CHANGES.
What’s the process?
You come in at your appointment time for pics and to get numbing right away. WE LET THAT SOAK IN WHILE WE DISCUSS YOUR GOALS AND GO OVER SOME MEDICAL HISTORY, then get to the fun stuff (the treatment itself).
How to prepare/do’s & don’ts:
KEEP YOUR SKIN AND YOURSELF HYDRATED PRIOR TO YOUR APPOINTMENT, and COME WITH A CLEAN FACE AND SMILE ☺️.
Avoid skin irritation or intentional skin tanning/fake tanning lotions for a week prior, as that can result in brown spots. Of course, use sunscreen outdoors during daylight hours.
Let us know if you are prone to hyperpigmentation/hypopigmentation, or melasma as that can affect the treatment course.
Notify us if you're prone to cold sores.
Stop taking anticoagulants 7-10 days prior to treatment, if medically permitted.
Skincare do’s and don’ts after appointment:
THE CHANNELS WE CREATED WILL BE OPEN FOR ABOUT 12-24 HOURS AFTER TREATMENT. KEEP THE AREAS TREATED CLEAN AND DON’T TOUCH WITH DIRTY HANDS to avoid contamination or infection. IF YOU NEED HELP CHOOSING PRODUCTS FOR AFTER CARE, WE’RE HERE TO HELP!
avoid retinols, aha’s, and exfoliating scrubs for 5 days.
use a CLEAN PILLOWCASE THE FIRST NIGHT.
Please contact Sweet Tox if there is any indication of infection, excessive swelling, redness, intense pain, or any other unusual symptom.
if scabs or flaking appear, do not pick! Let them do their thing and allow to flake off naturally.
If blisters occur, let us know! We can prescribe an antibiotic ointment or burn treatment cream.
Mechanical or thermal damage to the area should be avoided to help the healing process.
a gentle Moisturizer may be applied 24-72 hours after each treatment and then should be applied regularly throughout the course of the treatment.
Make-up may be applied only 24-72 hours after each treatment session. Generally, 24 hours after treatment you may use regular soaps, but not scrub soaps or exfoliates for 2 weeks.
of course, wear SPF! Use a high-factor sunscreen (at least 30 SPF) and protect the treated area from over-exposure to sunlight for at least one month (but really forever) after the treatment, starting 24-72 hours post treatment. Excessive tanning of any sort (sun exposure, tanning beds, and artificial tanning lotions) is not allowed on the treated areas during the entire course of the treatment.
